THE BACK TO BASICS SIMPLE TRUTH
It’s actually quite simple to clean hands and really only takes one ingredient….saponified organic coconut oil.
Long before we were here in our houses and had stores with all the fake infused smelly soaps like apple or berry scented, people were still cleaning their hands but with much more natural products.
The soap world has become about as saturated as the skincare and makeup industry with being laden with man-made and harmful chemicals that have no business on your skin and definitely don’t have anything to do with actual cleaning.
You know here, at The 365 Family, we are all about getting as simple and basic as we can and keeping it real for all families, whatever that looks like for you right now. We believe in simple solutions that work across the board and are actually good for you! We love to research and discover the best and healthiest products out there and pass all that information on to you and your family!
It’s all about giving you and your family only the best health-giving, life- infusing products, and solutions so that you can keep life simple and beautiful.
So, without further ado, let’s get on with the 5 Reasons to switch your hand soap now:
1. Too many chemicals in most store-bought hand pump soaps.
It’s ironic really when you think of what we are trying to accomplish when we wash our hands is to RID them of any dirt, debris, chemicals, or bad bacteria, right? And yet, what are we doing if we are using these store-bought chemical-laden soaps? We are actually putting on our skin and thereby our bloodstream as our skin absorbs it the entire list of chemicals in these soaps. Ironic right?
2. It is stripping the good bacteria off of your hands that you need in order to stay healthy.
This definitely shouldn’t come as a shocker since the research has been out on this for years now, but most hand pump soaps are actually killing the beneficial bacteria off of your hands, which is what our bodies need to fight the good fight. So, if the whole point of washing our hands is to keep viruses and bacteria at bay, then this isn’t going to make the cut.
3. They dry out your hands.
This is another interesting phenomenon, right? It seems that with most hand pump soaps, the more you wash your hands, the drier they become. Then what happens? Maybe you reach for the nearest moisturizer also laden with harmful chemicals and ingredients. It seems to be a vicious cycle and it is drying and aging our skin at an increased and unnecessary speed.
4. They aren’t REALLY cheaper in the long run.
Yes, I know, you can buy them for under $1 at the local store. I did for many years before I learned and knew better at what I was putting on and in my body. But, here is the interesting part. Because it takes a few pumps to get your hands clean from the store-bought soap, we really do end up burning through that stuff waaaaaaay quicker than the good stuff. I used to buy 10 at a time because I would go through them so quickly and they were so small and the more I would use them, the more pumps I would use. I believe this was due to them drying me out so I would use more under the false assumption that it would help my skin become softer, which it never did.
5. Now, you know better! No turning back.
Here is what I have learned and continue to learn on my quest for knowledge in every area of my life. Once I know something…I can no longer ignore it. I can’t unsee it or pretend I don’t know. It just doesn’t work like that. I have little people counting on me and I want to give them the best possible opportunity to grow up strong and healthy and with the understanding that everything is up for grabs when it comes to learning and growing…even something as seemingly mundane as hand soap.
THE ANSWER
So, as you probably already are asking…what do I do now?
It’s not enough to learn what NOT TO DO, is it?
Not only that, but it’s honestly not fair. If we learn there is something bad for us, but we don’t know what the answer is to replace that thing that what does it matter in the long run, right?
Well, just like I LOVE sharing with y’all things that are wonder products like recently how I share with you our family’s top 7 uses for Apple Cider Vinegar, I get to do the same thing here with you today regarding another super powerhouse that is a food and a cleaning agent!
Yes, it’s the amazingly wonderful, Coconut Oil!
BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL that you get the right one. I could go on for days and days about why the brand and where it comes from DOES MATTER, but I will let my dear friend Lindsay share her transformational journey (and nurse perspective) with this specific amazing coconut oil here with you from her article on why it matters. You can click here to read her amazing testimonial.
So, the amazing one of a kind soap that our family has been using for 6-7 years and has no plans to switch at all is THIS ONE! It truly has been amazing!
I would love to share with you 5 reasons we LOVE Healthy Traditions Hand Pump Soap!
1. There is only ONE ingredient!
If you get the unscented version, there is only one ingredient: Organic Saponified Coconut Oil. If you get the scented ones like Lavendar, they use only essential oils for the scent and nothing else. It doesn’t get much more basic than that!
2. Coconut Oil is nature’s wonder when it comes to fighting the bad stuff!
Coconut Oil is truly amazing with its ability to fight and kill viruses, bacteria, and penetrate deeper where it matters most!
3. It’s a natural luxurious moisturizer.
After using this soap, my hands always feel soft and not just on the surface, but deeper and they no longer look aged or dried out. It’s like the upper echelon of moisturizers wrapped in disguise as a hand pump soap!
4. It lasts and lasts!
Although it cost more upfront to buy this soap, I really don’t believe it cost more in the long run as we only need one pump, and sometimes only 1/2 of a pump in order to clean and wash our hands. Therefore, it lasts much longer! We just always buy the refill to have on hand as a backup and it lasts for months and months!
5. It healed my kids’ handwashing rashes.
One of my kiddos loves to wash her hands after everything and is very good at doing so. The problem before we found this soap was that she would get so dried out and even get rashes on her wrists and hands from the excessive soap and washings. That no longer happens since we have been using this amazing hand pump soap!
This is a great way to start off your clean living lifestyle if you are just getting started or another thing to keep going if you have been at this a while, and like us, still and always learning.
